Construction began on the reconfiguration of the community’s Catharpin Road Entrance on Clatterbuck Loop as of June 24,
2009. Work is scheduled to be completed within approximately
2 ½ weeks, depending on the weather and barring unforeseen
circumstances.
The project entails installation of a series of automated
barrier arms, metal gates and brick pillars with which to
control inbound and outbound traffic. The equipment will be
installed immediately adjacent to and behind the gatehouse
across all lanes as you enter the community, as outlined in
the attached drawing.
Please use caution when approaching the work site. Thank you
for your cooperation. Please call the Association offices at
703-753-7404 if you have any questions.
Piedmont Club in conjunction with High
Sierra Pools is offering swimming lessons this summer. If
you are interested in having your child participate, forms
can be downloaded below. Once the pool is open forms will be
available for pick up at the gate as well.
making piedmont
your own - Volunteer for a committee!
By Piedmont Resident
and Communications Committee Volunteer Candice Helmlinger
No community can survive without help from volunteers. It
takes each and every one of us to do a little something to
make Piedmont a sought-after place to be. Whether you
volunteer to meet people, make a difference, be in-the-know,
or protect your home investment, WE WANT YOU!
Here are some simple things you can do:
Send in your proxies or attend the HOA meetings. The Board
of Directors runs these meetings and decides how to allocate
YOUR money (HOA dues) to manage the neighborhood. Simply
sending in your proxy helps these resident volunteers get
things done.
Report physical problems to our management team at
703.753.7404 or
piedmont-hoa@comcast.net. Let the HOA know when there
are lights not functioning, potholes in the road, damage to
sidewalks, dead trees and more. The HOA is run by resident
volunteers (with day jobs) and a professional management
team, but they cant possibly see everything all the time.
Help keep up the neighborhood by simply looking around and
letting the HOA know what needs to be fixed.
Keep up not only your property, but the common grounds. If
the winds come through and blow trash everywhere, please
pick it up. If you walk your pet in the common grounds,
lease clean up after it. The common grounds belong to all of
us so it is our responsibility to keep them clean.
Volunteer for a committee. It doesn't take much; an hour a
day, an hour a week, an hour a month, or even an hour a
year. The time commitment is up to you. See the box on the
next page for how you can get involved. No time commitment
is too small and volunteering is FREE. It takes every
neighbor to make Piedmont a prospering community. We need
your help to keep Piedmont beautiful!

The Prince William Crime
Prevention Council Needs Your Support!
As a member of a Neighborhood
Watch, Business Watch or Fleet Watch you know that
the Crime Prevention Council plays a substantial role in
public education, crime
prevention and the good of the community. The Council
participates by partnering with
the Prince William County Police Department Crime Prevention
Unit and co-hosting
events such as National Night Out, Crime Prevention Month,
etc. These events promote
crime prevention and safety as well as providing free, fun
and safe event which residents of Prince William County can
attend.
Over the last several days, we have received a number of
reports of vandalism to streetlights throughout the
community. I've made arrangements with our service provider
to compile a list of damaged fixtures and to get them
replaced as soon as possible. I've also contacted the Prince
William County Police, and would encourage anyone with any
information to do the same.
Unfortunately, these fixtures are expensive, and their
replacement will be very costly to the community.
Consequently, the Board of Directors is offering a $500.00
REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION
OF THE PERPETRATORS. The Association will protect your
identity to the extent possible.
Please contact me at 703-753-7404 if you have any questions
or information and PLEASE contact the PWC Police at their
non-emergency no. 703-792-6500 if you have any information.
Sincerely,
Patrick Heelen, Community Manager
The Annual
meeting took place on march 25, 2009
The 2009 Annual Meeting of the Piedmont Homeowner's
Association, Inc. took place on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in
the Banquet Room of the Piedmont Golf Club, located at 14675
Piedmont Vista Drive, Haymarket, Virginia 20169.
Many residents may have received a letter from
Piedmont management regarding mailbox conditions.
Many mailboxes in Piedmont have deteriorated and are
becoming an eye sore. Posts need to be either
repaired and painted (bright white)
or replaced; the house number plate should be in
good repair with all numbers and hanging from 2
hooks, and the green mail receptacle should not have
peeling paint or visible dents and scratches. If you
are interested, vinyl replacement posts (Model
MP-250) are available from Mainstreet Mailboxes at
703.753.5521. An MP-250 mailbox has been installed
in front of the HOA office. Replacement wooden posts
(Model MP-34) are also available, along with the
number plaques and the mail receptacles.
